These containers FLAKE MUCH LESS! Made entirely from heavy 20 gauge components, all four corners are reinforced with spot welded corner angles to prevent distortion over time. The floating lid has a lifting tab for convenience. A narrow band of exposed carbon around the edges of the lid is proven to allow the carbon to do its job right.

Don't buy this firing vessel!	May 27, 2013

I got the 4x4x3 and was excited by the description. 6 firings later all four corners have split. Large chunks of, I guess weld, peel off every firing. This last firing the lid warped. Low flake compared to what? It is a mess. UPDATE: Another issue I just realized is the splintering pieces of the vessel fused to my bronze pieces. I used a magnet to go through my carbon and collected a bunch of steel slivers and small chunks. So I be getting new carbon too.

Received my vessel in March. After only a 1/2 dozen firings, 3 of the 4 welded corners have opened up, pieces have come off. More flaking than I expected. I so looked forward to using one only to be extremely disappointed. If there was a 1/2 star rating, that's all I'd give it. A total waste of money!

Save your money. There is just as much flaking with this vessel as with the others, and it has warped into a parallelogram shape after the first use. The edges are deadly sharp and I had to spend a long time grinding them down so I wouldn't slice my fingers. I still have to be careful handling it. I'm sorry, but this product is a true disaster. I bought two of them because I was so excited about a low flake vessel. I even held off using my new second kiln until they came back into stock so I could keep the inside clean. That was futile. Useless. Please stop carrying these, everyone who buys them will be disappointed (and maybe injured!). One star is waaaay too high a rating for these.

I bought the 4"x6"x2 and really love the size. However, I've experienced three issues with my container. It flakes, it warps, and one of the corners is coming apart to the point that I think it will eventually be unusable. I'm glad I only purchased one. My next vessel with be ceramic, foil, or regular stainless steel.

it flakes just as much as the other ones if not more.

wish I bought the ceramic one now, and I plan to soon.
